Senftenberg is situated in the area known as the Kremstal. High above the village is the old ruins of it's castle.
The castle is nestled above the vineyards which are ideal for the Riesling grape. The view is very picturesque and breathtaking.
There are many places to explore on the castle ruins and many stories entwine around the centuries old building. Findings from archaeological excavations are on show in the museum room.
Inside, cosy vaults invite you to unwind and enjoy the ambience, and the roofed terrace area also provides a wonderful place to sit and have a picnic or a glass of wine. It's pleasant during the day and in the evening.
The Verein zur Erhaltung der Burgruine Senftenberg has set itself the goal of preserving and partially rebuilding the foundation walls, and various events are organised by the association every year.
The grounds of the ruin are open and accessible all year round with free admission for viewing, the inside of the castle is by appointment only.
The rooms and castle grounds are available for private functions.
We are looking forward to your visit!
