High above the Kremstal valley
Senftenberg is situated in the area known as the Kremstal. High above the village lie the old ruins of its castle, nestled above vineyards ideal for the Riesling grape – the view is picturesque and breathtaking.
There are many places to explore on the castle ruins, and many stories entwine around the centuries-old building. Findings from archaeological excavations are on display in the museum room.
Inside, cosy vaults invite you to unwind and enjoy the ambience, while the roofed terrace area provides a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a meal or a glass of wine, day or night.
The "Verein zur Erhaltung der Burgruine Senftenberg" (the association preserving the castle ruins) aims to preserve and partially rebuild the foundation walls, and organises various events every year.

The grounds of the ruin are open and accessible all year round with free admission. The rooms and castle grounds are also available for private functions – we kindly ask all visitors for consideration and respectful behaviour on these occasions.
